Thanks for the amazing product... Just purchased Hyperdesk DARKmatter Solar Flare for Vista I really love the theme a ton... one issue is really pestering me, and I'm so desperate to get this to work before I purchase the Red Shift Theme as well... I've read other posts about the issue, but this is a slightly different idea altogether or maybe I'm imagining it... Firstly, the Hyperdesk Widget never stores any preference or position information... I've tried the Hide Widget idea, but as soon as I restart the system, everything is reset with the Widget re-spawning in the middle of the screen without the "Ignore Mouse" function enabled... In otherwards, its reset after every system restart... and obviously, the thing getting on my nerves is the position the Widget pops up everytime... covering the awesome HyperDesk logo in the middle of the screen... So, is there any solution to this issue... any advice... because I really want to use the Widget and I'm deadset on buying the Red Shift version of this DarkMatter Hyperdesk... let me know... Thanks in advance for the help! |

This same issue happens on my Laptop as well... when I close the widget, it defaults to the middle of the screen when yahoo is loaded up again and all other preferences are lost... thing is, all my other widgets' save their screen positions and settings, but the DarkMatter Remote pops up bang on centre everytime... Is there anywhere where these settings are stored on the system? Positional Settings or anything like that... I'm keen on getting this Remote to show that awesome animation on Windows Startup in the correct location on the screen... that would be awesome!!! And yes, I do have the Latest Yahoo Widgets Application... |

It will remember where you put it but might reset after reboot. -------------------- Jeff Schader

Our coder might have set the preference to center justify for this remote. It will remember where you put it but might reset after reboot. I don't think thats right bro... because the Darkmatter Alloy Remote works 100%... you can move it around... close it... and it re-opens wherever u closed it... and all the settings are still in tact... I've tried a few things with the Remote... tried deleting entries in the registry... tried renaming the widget... nothing is working... and obviously... I'm a bit disappointed... everything works, except the dam remote... eish... guess its a sad day when the technical guys don't have answers or fixes... guess i'll need to go look for an answer myself on google somewhere... l8r |

Thanks man... I'm still struggling like its hot... lol!!! From Roman: "I believe he's talking about persistent preference states. That's not implemented on the DM widgets. They simply 'forget' their states after re-starting. I forget why they were not implemented at the very beginning, but it might have had something to do with the itunes bugs we were having and event timer issues. It's possible to save these states in code, but not on user-end. So nothing they can do to remedy the issue. btw, all the Silver Edition widgets (+ new redshift-black) have an upgraded codebase that doesn't reset the widget position after first startup. I do have tons of code editing experience... and maybe there's a way of updating the graphics for the Alloy Remote instead of editing the Darker one... makes sense to me, as that one works... I'm not getting Redshift just yet... I want Solar Flare perfect before that happens... and its so near to that state... |

I think its xml and jscript. Here's the widget SDK: http://widgets.yahoo.com/tools/ Solved the issue. Copied Dark Remotes textures and graphics over the the Alloy Remotes 'resources' folder overwriting the alloy pictures... and wella... its working like the Alloy skin... but looks like the Dark skin... Happy days... |
