It looks horrible, so every time I restart I have to unload the theme, which gives a lot of errors, then reload the theme again.

Try redownloading the installer. Sounds like something got corrupted. And keep the profanity off your posts.

Also make sure you're using the right version for your version of 7. And make sure your display is set to default and not medium or large.

Uh yeah you did. I edited out the "S" word. Anyway, there is obviously an application or a setting that's not allowing your theme to apply.
