I just puchased Dark Matter: Subspace for Windows 7 and it's amazing.

I've seen a giant blue/red ball associated with the DarkMatter themes, what is this and how do I get this?

That's the Widget that ships with each theme. 2 versions actually - dark and alloy. You need the free application Yahoo! Widgets that can be downloaded by a link on the widget panel of the Hyperdesk application.
