[03]In detail
What you pay, what you do, and when each wins.
What you pay
Freelance prices vary widely with experience and scope. Upwork puts typical web designers on its platform at about $15 to $30 an hour, and experienced designers charge more. Ask for a fixed quote, and ask what hosting and later changes will cost. With Hyperdesk the price is fixed: $500 to launch, then $49 a month.
Who looks after the site
Before you sign with a freelancer, ask who hosts the site after launch, who makes changes, and what happens if they get busy or move on. With Hyperdesk, hosting, security updates, backups and 2 small changes a month are part of the plan.
Where a freelancer is the better choice
A good freelancer can be great value, especially for a custom design or a site with special features. If you have found someone you trust, that relationship is worth a lot.

[04]Questions
Questions, answered.
Is Hyperdesk a freelancer?
No. Hyperdesk is a service: we redesign your site, show it to you finished, then host it and keep it current for a fixed monthly price.
Can I keep my freelancer and use Hyperdesk?
Hyperdesk hosts and looks after the sites we launch, so you would not need a separate person for upkeep. If your freelancer handles other work, like ads or photos, that can carry on.
What happens if I cancel Hyperdesk?
You can cancel anytime. The site goes offline and your domain stays yours. On request we send you a copy of your site’s files.
